A gated, data-driven pilot to validate distributed residential AI inference at scale.
Vanguard Alpha pilot
Vanguard Alpha is Sky Fusion’s initial proposed pilot: 1,000 homes and approximately 2,200 GPUs, or roughly 2.2 GPUs per home on average. The pilot will be deployed in gated tranches, beginning with a smaller beta deployment before expanding.
What is Vanguard Alpha?
Vanguard Alpha is a structured pilot designed to validate the technical, operational, and financial foundations of distributed residential AI inference. Each tranche must validate uptime, telemetry, security, homeowner acquisition, installation performance, and SLA metrics before additional capital and hardware are deployed.
Technology and architecture
Vanguard Alpha combines rooftop solar, battery storage, secure liquid-cooled GPU nodes, heat recovery, and SkyFusion OS orchestration in participating homes. Each home operates behind the meter, with secure connectivity, workload isolation, encrypted transport, and hardware-level protections where supported. SkyFusion OS aggregates these nodes into a unified inference cluster that appears to customers as a single reliable API endpoint.
Pilot goals
Vanguard Alpha is designed to:
Demonstrate reliable distributed inference performance
Validate homeowner acquisition and installation economics
Test project-finance structures for distributed AI infrastructure
Provide strategic partners with resilient inference capacity
Measure the community-alignment benefits of direct household participation in AI infrastructure
Strategic value for partners
Vanguard Alpha may allow AI infrastructure partners to access contracted wholesale inference capacity while preserving their ability to route, price, package, and monetize suitable workloads through existing API, enterprise, batch, and product channels. The pilot is structured to generate the operational and financial data needed to support future project-finance vehicles and larger-scale deployments.
Participate in Vanguard Alpha
Sky Fusion is engaging AI labs, hyperscalers, enterprise compute buyers, project-finance partners, and strategic investors who see value in a distributed, community-aligned inference layer.
We are also beginning to identify qualifying homeowners and installer partners in target markets. Participation is limited to qualifying homeowners and subject to site review.
